- What files are supported?
- JPG, PNG and WEBP uploads up to 5 MB. The output is always a PNG with a transparent background, up to 2200 px on the long side.
- Is the result really full size, or a small preview?
- You download the same image the model produced, with no watermark and no preview step. The one limit is that photos larger than 2200 px on the long side are scaled down to that size before processing, so a very large photo comes back smaller than the original.
- Why was my image resized?
- Anything longer than 2200 px on the long side is scaled down before the background is removed. The model runs on a shared server, and a larger image means a longer wait for everyone in the queue. The result page tells you both the original and the final size when a photo was resized.
- Why is the first request sometimes slower?
- The model may need to warm up after a deployment or a quiet period. Typical processing is 3 to 60 seconds depending on the photo, and the first job after a restart can take longer. The waiting screen shows the elapsed time so you can see it is still working.
- Can I process several images at once?
- No. This is a one image at a time tool: there is no batch upload, no folder processing and no public API. Two jobs run in parallel on the server in total, so during busy periods your image may sit in a short queue before it starts.
- How can I get cleaner edges?
- Use a sharp photo where the subject clearly stands out from the background, and avoid heavy JPG compression. Fine hair, glass, smoke and thin glasses frames are the hard cases for any automatic tool, including this one, and they often need a short manual touch up afterwards.
- Do you store uploaded images?
- Only while the job runs. Your upload and the result are deleted from the server within 30 minutes, and you can delete them yourself with one button on the result page. Your images are never used to train any model.
- Can I put the cutout on a white background?
- Yes. On the result page you can preview the cutout on white, black or any colour you pick and download that version. The composite is made in your browser, and the transparent PNG stays available.
- Can I use the results commercially?
- Yes, as far as this service is concerned. You are responsible for holding the rights to whatever you upload: the tool does not grant you any rights to third party content.
- How do I report a bad result or a bug?
- Email support@background-remover-free.com with the browser you used, roughly when you uploaded, and a screenshot if you can. A person reads that inbox.
